Kotahena, postal code 01300 and long known by its municipal number as Colombo 13, is one of Colombo's oldest and most densely populated suburbs — home to St. Anthony's Shrine, St. Lucia's Cathedral and the Sugathadasa Stadium. The station falls under the Colombo North Police Division of the Sri Lanka Police Department.
The front desk (Officer-in-Charge counter) is staffed 24 hours a day for complaints, information (B) reports, and general enquiries. For non-emergency matters, residents are encouraged to visit in person or call ahead during daytime hours.
